A lot to catch up

Aiai, finally got through: this computer isn´t the quickest or most developed one ever. So cannot place pictures; other time again.
Mariek arrived yesterday and today we did quite some walking: saw a beautiful church with blue light but for the rest it was not that amazing untill now: quite foggy (also pollution: irritated nose yesterday) but weather is nice! Tomorrow the piramids and Frida Kahlo museum: looking forward to it! After that we probably go to Queterano, San Miguel de Allende, Guanejato, Guadalajara, Manzonillo and most certaintly our time together is over by then: Joachim and I are going to meet somewhere, take a bus to Merida afterwards and fly to NY after I said goodbye to my hostfamily. But first a little update: Salina Cruz.
The photo of the surfboard is taken in Salina Cruz: the moment I decided to leave the little unspoiled town with bugs on one part of the beach, 4 chicos walked up to me and spend the whole day with them untill I catched my nightbus: Great day!!! Sun, bit of surf and fun! What a live :)!
The bus took me to Oaxaca: arrived at 5 but after a nap in the hostel felt as reborn. Got addicted to the marvellous chocolate and tamales con mole: waaaaah delicious! Discoverd variety of food, yummie :)! Further a beatiful city with a lot of great shops spread out in the city center and it surroundings. Colourful markets and art on the zocalo´s. I have to hurry since people are waiting... :(.
Spend 2 days in Oaxaca and travelled on to Puebla: haha great tourist police there :)! Little brother of the hotel owner took me to a bar where they had homo night that evening: believe that is the first time that I saw homo´s so openly in Mexico. Notice less traditional clothing and also more use of English as I travel up north. But unlike the people in Yucatan told me, the people in these cities are friendly and more willing to help too. Also walked to little plazas with mariachis and other nightlife: a lot of ambiance in Puebla, also in daytime I discovered the following day! Next day just wandered around to admire all the decorations on buildings, see markets enjoy a kind of ice with chomol and chilipepper and have some churro´s. Again so much good food! Lovely sun, great day again :)!
Hmm, after that took a bus to Cuernavaca what at first sight did not look that appealing, but after some exploring turned out to have both two salto´s (waterfalls) and two little piramids within the city: haha, great! So visited both and saw a bit of the zocalo´s which were fine. Met people from Mexico (City) and Puebla and went with the son the next day in a gigantic car to Taxco: great landscapes!! City itself was not very interesting to me but maybe because I had another ´bad-stomach-day´ (food poquito heavy). Visited a cave afterwards and drove back to Mexico City. Spend the night in the house of ¨Pino¨ and next day visited the Antropology Museum with the family. Afterwards eaten in a expensive restaurant where they served caterpillars and larves as appetizers: apparently a gem in food here.. Hmm latter where fine but the former :(. :)! This lovely people brought me to the hostel where I anxiously waited for Marieke to arrive. And that´s where I am writing this piece of news for you now after a pretty long day. Ik heb een tijdje niets meer van me laten horen, maar ik verheug me altijd weer op het lezen van je nieuwe verhalen.
Ik ben zelf net terug van Tenerife en moet alweer wennen aan het Nederlandse klimaat. Dat zal jij ook wel hebben als jij strakjes terug bent.
Lijkt me geweldig wat je allemaal meemaakt. Geniet nog volop van je laatste weken!
